" A MORSEL OF GENUINE HISTORY IS A THING SO RARE AS TO BE ALWAYS VALUABLE"

THOMAS JEFFERSON

North East Illinois

This region has the distinct advantage of being the home of one of the most historically significant cities in Illinois...Chicago.   The advantages of transportation from East to West by land and by sea attracted many enterprising businessman and manufacturers.   Even Cyrus McCormick landed in this region from the east to be nearer to his customer base while attaining the advantages that an industrialized city could offer.    The North East region is notoriously over weighted with a large number of companies throughout history that have made their mark in agriculture.  Some of the heritage of this region can still be found in some of the current manufacturers existing today.
